The Man-Eatter pt. 13

I stared down at the brunet with confusion for a moment. Dany? A…Man-Eater.
“How is that even possible Alice?” Soan asked with a curious tone in his voice.
“Well…” Alice flipped through some pages on her clip board before looking back up to Soan. “According to our tests. She appears to be… a half breed. But her Man-Eater cells are slowly taking over on a micro scale.”
Soan soaked that in for a moment before looking at the women with narrowed brown eyes. “And your 100% positive?”
She nodded. “Yes sir.”
Soan groaned and rubbed the bridge of his nose, before looking up to me. “Guess it’s your lucky day… we won’t kill her… at least not yet.”
My eyes narrowed on him. “What about your own stupid law about not killing a man-“
“I said not yet.” Said Soan roughly as he gave me a glare. “We will perform a few minor tests on her; see if she’s good enough of a ‘man-eater’ to keep alive. If not, we will have to dispose of her.”
I sneered. “Typical… you only keep around those you deem fit..”
“If that’s the way it has to be to keep our race alive Jonathan… then so be it…” he said simply before turning and waving for Alice to follow. Before he walked out of view into the darkness on the other side of the room, I saw him look to one of the armed guards. “Have John moved into the testing court yard… chained. Bring the girl there also…. We have tests we need to run. “


Dany’s POV

I had woken up about 20 minutes ago. When I did wake.. I was in a metal room. Looking almost like a prison cell. Only difference was there were no bars, except on the small window in the metal door. The only thing that was in the small metal room was a toilet, a sink, a bed and a light bulb that hung from the ceiling. As I walked up to the metal door and peered out the barred window, I saw two large soldiers with guns on either side of the door.
“Hello… c-can someone tell me what’s going on here.” I asked.
One of the soldiers glanced at me with no emotion what so ever, I gulped as he said sourly. “Shut up…”
I blinked surprised at how utterly rude he was.”I just want to know what’s going on-“
I almost screamed as both men pointed their guns at me. “Just shut up or else-“
“What do you think you’re doing?!” a women’s voice yelled. Both men put their guns at their side a woman in a lab coat walked up to them. “Don’t ever point your guns at anyone unless I or Soan says so. Got it?”
Both men nodded as the women unlocked the metal door and opened it. She stood wore glasses over her brown eyes. She looked down at me with a kind smile. “Sorry about them sweaty.. If you come with me I’ll explain everything to you...”
I stood there a moment, studding her before saying, “where’s John.”
She chuckled. “Don’t worry. He’ll be where we’re going.”
I nodded before following her out of the metal room and down the long hallway. There were many other metal cells down the very long corridor. Most of them where empty but others had people that reminded me of the zombies from the walking dead. They all looked like they were rotting away and looked mindless. Some tried to reach through the bars of the windowed door and get at me and the women.
I looked at the women I followed. “What is this place?”
“This place… is a secret base about 30 miles below the surface of the earth. It keeps us hidden.”
“Keep who hidden?”
She smirked. ”who do you think? Did you think John was the only type of Man-Eater?”
I stared at her a few minutes before it hit me. “You? You’re a Man-Eater?”
“Well, not just me, everyone in this base is a Man-Eater.” She explained as she led me down a couple more hallways till we got to a large door that was labeled ‘Testing Court’. “And I do mean everyone…” she said looking at me.
I gulped softly in surprise. “You think I’M a Man-Eater?”
“You are at least 58% Man-Eater at the moment. We did some DNA testing and blood work… We double checked and everything came out the same.”
“You’re joking right? Do I look like a Man-Eater to you?”
She merely smiled. “No, but do I?”
I slowly shook my head only to earn a chuckle from her. “My point exactly… now come…” she smiled as she pushed some buttons into a number pad on the side of the door. With a small creak the huge metal door began to open, blinding me with a bright light.
Once I could see the women lead me into the new room, the metal door shutting behind us. I gasped and looked at the huge field of grass before me. It kind of looked to be the size of four football fields. Above the grass was the ceiling that was about 200 feet up, and made completely out of lights.
The women laughed some. “those lights keep the grass alive down here, we channel the UV rays from the sun on the solar panels above the base and use them in the lights here…” she explained as she led me down the field.
I gasped when I saw a huge body resting back against one of the walls. “john!” I screamed. He looked up, seeming a bit startled but smiled once he caught sight of me.
“Dany! You’re ok!” he sighed happily, and tried to reach for me, only to get cut off by the huge metal chains holding his wrists closely to the wall.
I quickly ran up to his knee and looked up at him with worried eyes.”Wh-..why are you chained up?”
He sighed. “Because they say I can’t be trusted…”
“and how right you are.” A low male voice said, I looked towards were the voice came from only to see a large man walking towards me and john. “hello Danyelle. I am Soan. The administrator of this base. I see you found my note and my son.”
